Fata Narrat: Short Stories

Draft of Ancient Echoes

Captain Elena Rodriguez stood at the viewport, her eyes fixed on the distant exoplanet. The ship's engines hummed softly as it approached its destination. For years, this world had captivated scientists and space enthusiasts alike. Yet only one crew would get the chance to uncover its secrets. As the landing sequence began, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss. Her colleagues were equally preoccupied, their focus shifting restlessly. When they finally touched down, the atmosphere was thick with anticipation. But as they stepped out of the airlock, a strange silence greeted them. The planet's surface stretched before them in an eerie calm. Suddenly, Elena noticed a faint glow on the horizon. It grew brighter until it illuminated the entire landscape. A massive structure emerged from the haze, its presence both majestic and intimidating. As they approached, they realized they were not alone.

Draft Review of Ancient Echoes

The draft is well-written and adheres to the science fiction genre. The pacing could benefit from more description of the alien environment, which would enhance the sense of exploration. Additionally, the characters' motivations and reactions seem a bit generic; deeper development here would add depth to the narrative.
