Fata Narrat: Short Stories

Portal of Eldoria

In the heart of an ancient forest, where whispers turned to rustling leaves and shadows danced under the moonlight, lay the village of Eldoria. The villagers believed in legends that spoke of a hidden portal guarded by mythical creatures, said to lead to realms beyond their wildest dreams.

Aragorn, a curious young boy with wide eyes and an insatiable thirst for adventure, decided it was time he explored these tales himself. His quest began one crisp autumn evening when the first star appeared in the sky above Eldoria. With his trusty wooden sword at his side and a map passed down through generations of his family, Aragorn set out under the watchful gaze of his mother, who whispered words of caution but held her peace.

As he ventured deeper into the forest, the air grew cooler, and the trees seemed to whisper secrets only to those brave enough to listen. Aragorn found himself at a fork in the path; one branch led back towards safety, while another stretched towards an unknown darkness. Drawing on his courage, he chose the uncertain path.

After what felt like hours of navigating through twisted roots and tangled vines, Aragorn stumbled upon a clearing bathed in silver light. There stood the portal, shimmering with magic, guarded by two spectral dragons whose eyes glowed like embers. Their presence was both welcoming and foreboding. They spoke to him in whispers that echoed like distant thunder: 'Seek not what you cannot comprehend,' they said.

Aragorn's mother had always been proud of his bravery but also worried for his safety. She had hoped he would stay home, where the dangers were known, yet she understood his need to explore the unknown. As Aragorn approached the portal, his mother's voice echoed in his mind: 'Go with courage and return with wisdom.'

Conflicted but determined, Aragorn pressed his hand against the portal's glowing surface. In a flash of light, he was swallowed whole into a world unlike any other-filled with wonders and mysteries yet untold. The adventure had only just begun.
