Fata Narrat: Short Stories

Wanderer's Spell

In the heart of an ancient forest, where trees whispered secrets and sunlight danced through leaves, Elara stood before a massive oak. This tree was said to be enchanted, capable of granting wishes. However, her wish had always seemed mundane: just to find her missing father in the kingdom's vast wilderness. Tonight, under the light of a full moon, she decided to make an unspoken promise. If she could not find him by sunrise, she would make a single wish. With a deep breath, Elara placed her hand on the tree's gnarled bark and whispered her plea. The forest seemed to hold its breath as the oak responded with a rustling sound that echoed through the trees. In an instant, a path of glowing light appeared before her, leading into the unknown. Elara followed it, her heart pounding with excitement and fear. She walked for hours until she reached a clearing where a small cottage stood alone, bathed in moonlight. Inside, she found her father lying on a cot, weak but alive. He had been captured by bandits seeking treasure hidden deep within the forest. Overjoyed, Elara rushed to his side and promised him that they would return home together.
